Chain

Grade 30 –     Excellent for applications that do not require high strength.  Good for general purpose use.

Grade 43 –     Often used for tie down, demolition and towing.  Stronger than Grade 30.  Chain sizes 3/8” and larger meet D.O.T. approval.

Grade 70 –     Used for load binding and towing.  Stronger than Grade 30 and Grade 43 chain.  Meets D.O.T. approval for over the road use.

Grade 80 –     Most commonly used for overhead lifting.  Great for slings, heavy duty towing, drag lines and other applications requiring high strength and wear resistance.

Grade 100-  Similar to Grade 80, also used for overhead lifting. Has the greatest strength to weight ratio of the alloy chains. Harder and more durable so the inner link wear associated with normal use is reduced, extending the life of the chain.

Grade 120-  Used for overhead lifting. Is 20% stronger, elongation at 25% or more.
